God wanted His prophet Jonah to warn the people of Nineveh, but Jonah sailed the
other way. Then God Sent a fierce storm that almost sank Jonah's ship -- and
Jonah was thrown into the sea! Even so, God showed compassion to Jonah by
sending a big fish to rescue him. At last Jonah brought God's message to
Nineveh. But when Nineveh repented, Jonah still had to learn about God's
compassionate heart for people.
Jonah failed to show mercy, like we sometimes do. But the Lord Jesus showed
compassion in the best way: He died and rose to life again so that now everyone
can receive God's mercy. Not only will students see God's mercy at Big Fish Bay,
but they will also learn to share it with others.
